Senior Oracle PL/SQL Engineer (m/f)

We are looking for a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Engineer to join our team on new project for our Croatian client specializing in insurance industry. Project focus will be to deliver a sales application with top user experience. We want a team member who will collaborate closely with our development team and the client's team to ensure smooth operation of database functionality and to continue developing on project. Experience with Oracle APEX is not mandatory but would be considered an advantage. Because of project specifics knowledge of Croatian language is a must. Sounds interesting? Find out more! What you’ll be doing: - Developing, maintaining, and enhancing Oracle PL/SQL code and stored procedures - Collaborating with the front-end Angular developers to integrate backend and frontend functionality - Troubleshooting and optimizing existing database applications to ensure high performance - Assisting with database schema design, indexing, and optimization - Participating in code reviews and implementing best practices for database development - Providing support in database administration tasks such as backups, restores, and performance tuning What we are looking for in Senior System Engineer is: - 5+ years of experience with PL/SQL - Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, indexes, and query optimization - Experience with Oracle development tools (e.g., Toad, SQL Developer) - Experience with techniques for optimizing PL/SQL code and SQL queries - Experience with Oracle APEX development (considered an advantage but not required) - Understanding of EXPLAIN PLAN - Understanding of cursors, exceptions, dynamic SQL, object types, triggers, jobs, Oracle sessions, contexts, and virtual private databases - Experience working in agile teams - Great interpersonal and communication skills - Proactive, team-oriented, and results-focused It would be cool if you also have, but it’s not necessary: - Experience with Confluence for documentation and Jira for collaboration - Experience with TortoiseSVN - Understanding business requirements for database development A little bit about us: Pontis Technology is an IT service company based in Zagreb, Croatia founded in 2022.We love to have fun, but we’re not joking around when it comes to your software.
